2010 Summer Health Careers Institute: Week One: June 6-11, 2010 -Week Two: July 18-23, 2010
During this six-day program students from all over the state will come together to explore various medical health professions as well as have the opportunity to tour health care facilities; discuss career options with professors and health practitioners; and shadow a health professional during the trip to the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus "job shadow day" in Aurora. There will be daily trips throughout the Institute. Colorado AHEC System provides room and board, meals and all activities at no expense to the students. Medical Career Collaborative MC2 at The Children’s Hospital:
We are looking for the next generation of health professionals!
Applications are accepted from high school students in the Denver metro area. MC² gives priority to applicants in their sophomore year who attend high schools in the counties of Denver, Arapahoe, Adams and in some cases Jefferson. If selected, students participate in the two-year program during their junior and senior years. The program places great emphasis on including students of all backgrounds, socio-economic groups, and geographic regions. Participants are selected by committee based on a number of criteria. The University of Colorado at Boulder High School Honors Institute—sponsored by the College of Engineering and Applied Science: July 25th-July 28th 2010—Check it out at http://engineering.colorado.edu/hshi
Students must be entering their junior or senior year in high school in the fall of 2010. There is a $375 fee after acceptance which includes all expenses except transportation. The High School Honors Institute is an intensive 4 day residential program that introduces the creative nature of engineering to students with strong academic records in math and science and who are interested in cultivating their creativity to solve problems. The Frontiers of Science Institute at the University of Northern Colorado (Greeley): June 12th-July 22
